National Pet Month: Meet the Team (Pet edition)
National Pet Month is the perfect time to celebrate the joy, companionship, and unconditional love that pets bring into our lives. Whether it is the loyal wag of a dog’s tail, the gentle purr of a cat, or the playful antics of smaller companions, pets enrich our daily routines in countless ways.
This month also offers a vital opportunity to reflect on responsible pet ownership, ensuring our animals are happy, healthy, and well-cared for, while also recognizing the positive impact they have on our overall wellbeing. From strengthening emotional bonds to encouraging active lifestyles, the connection between humans and their pets is truly worth celebrating.
The Benefits of Pet Ownership
Beyond the immediate joy they bring, pets play a meaningful role in supporting our physical and emotional health. Studies have shown that spending time with animals can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve overall mood.
Daily routines—such as walking a dog or caring for a small animal—encourage consistency, responsibility, and a more active lifestyle. For many, pets provide a unique sense of comfort and companionship, easing feelings of loneliness and creating a reassuring, lively presence at home.
Responsibility and Adoption
With the rewards of pet ownership come important responsibilities. Providing a balanced diet, regular exercise, routine veterinary care, and a safe environment are all essential to ensuring a pet’s long-term health and happiness.
National Pet Month is also a fantastic time to raise awareness about adoption. Giving animals in shelters a second chance provides them with the loving home they deserve. Whether you are supporting local animal charities, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness, every action makes a difference.
If you are looking to welcome a new companion into your family, Leicester Animal Rescue focuses on rehoming animals that deserve a second chance at a permanent, loving home.
Meet the Office Pets!
This next section may cause sudden urges to adopt! Let’s take a look at the pets that our team members have the pleasure of caring for:
Max: Shannon’s dog and the undisputed diva of the house. He loves to boss everyone around and definitely takes his job as a guard dog seriously!

Skittles & Ronnie: Abbie’s stunning birds. They are a talkative pair that keeps the house lively.

Herman: Matt’s spoilt boy. He prefers the comfort of the indoors and is a huge fan of treats and Halloween!

Teddy: Our North Desk Manager Ben’s dog.

Ted: Ellie’s adorable child—he is full of life and energy!

Boo & Peach: Our West Midlands Recruitment Consultant’s adorable cats.

Tommy: Our beloved office dog and Branch Manager Joe’s “son.” He is universally loved by everyone in the office.

Jaws, Claws, Archie, & Pixie: A clowder of cats at Tammy’s house. Jaws and Claws are fittingly named after her mum’s favourite film, Jaws.

Bertie: Our East Desk Manager Josh’s dog, who clearly enjoys the odd drink.

Nola, Monkey, Albert, & Goose: The lovely Bobbies household! Nola is the cutie in the yellow, Monkey and Albert are the adorable cats, and Goose is the silly dog.

The “Lazy” Queen: Our Payroll and Compliance Administrator Lauren’s pup. She is very lazy but loves the occasional walk.

Eden & Purdey: Our South East Consultant Zac’s lovely dog (Eden) and adorable cat (Purdey).

Tohru: One of Arti’s cats and a certified cuddle addict, especially when it involves stealing space in bed. She is very chatty and, despite being the smaller one, runs the household like a tiny, fluffy dictator. Don’t be fooled by her cuteness… it’s all part of her master plan.
Kyo: On the other hand, likes to act tough, but he’s actually a total softie. He’s a huge fuss pot with the loudest purrs you’ve ever heard. Despite Arti providing multiple comfy beds, Kyo prefers the luxury lifestyle of cardboard boxes and packing paper. He’s also mastered the art of manipulating Arti into giving him treats, usually with those big eyes and extra loud purring.
