World Book Day 2025
March 6th is World Book Day 2025. World Book Day is a day to celebrate the reading of books and to encourage reading for pleasure. It’s aims are to introduce people to new authors and books, highlight how books and reading can increase knowledge and to encourage children to read more.
In honour of World Book Day we have asked some of our consultants and staff to tell us their favourite books from past and present and share them with you today.
Joanna Cuni
My Fav Book: It Ends With Us – Colleen Hoover
Why I love it: The book encourages women to prioritise their well-being and happiness even if it means making difficult decisions, it is a powerful and emotional read that offers a raw and honest portrayal of love, abuse and healing. It shows the reality of having an abusive parent and how it can affect your adult life in relationships. I highly recommend It Ends with Us to anyone looking for a heartfelt story that will stay with you long after the last page.

Arti Mistry
My Fav Book: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
Why I love it: The story blends adventure and fantasy with themes of good versus evil, courage, and redemption. I love the magical world of Narnia and how the Pevensie children grow through their journey. Aslan, the lion, symbolises bravery and hope, while the White Witch represents evil. The book is not only an exciting adventure but also a powerful reminder that even in darkness, hope and courage can prevail.

Jareth Lang
My Fav Book: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Why I love it: I am somewhat of a hungry caterpillar myself

Shannon Smith
My Fav Book: Howls Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
Why I love it: Howls Moving Castle builds an engaging and exciting fantasy world which touches on real issues, but maintains a nostalgic feel. I love Howls Moving Castle because it treads the line of fantasy and humour so well it is endearing and instantly became my favourite book

Neve Sanchez
My Fav Book: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Why I love it: A beautiful but heart-breaking story. Very eye opening on the reality of what other people could be dealing with behind closed doors. Would recommend to everyone!

Matt Robinson
My Fav Book: The Catcher in the Rey by J.D. Salinger
Why I love it: A book I find myself reading every year, Salinger’s use of words and dialogue presenting a great coming of age story which presents a realistic point of view of a teenagers world. The book deals with themes like grief etc in an interesting way which makes it a great read.
