We are a leading provider of residential care services for children and young people in East Ham, London. Committed to delivering exceptional care and support, we are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to join our dynamic team.

Job Description:

As the Registered Children’s Home Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our residential care facility, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained at all times. Your primary focus will be on providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people in our care, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the residential care home in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.

Provide effective leadership and supervision to the staff team, ensuring they are supported, motivated, and trained to deliver high-quality care.

Develop and implement care plans and risk assessments for each child or young person, ensuring their individual needs and preferences are met.

Oversee the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of staff members, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.

Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, regulatory bodies, and other relevant agencies.

Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance the service.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding procedures, and other legal requirements.

Manage the home’s budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to meet the needs of the children and young people in our care.

Act as the designated safeguarding lead for the home, responding promptly to any safeguarding concerns or incidents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior management role within the children’s residential care sector.
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.
